Abjee has been a valued member of the Kuredu family for 23 years and is one of our longest serving Team Members, having worked his way up through the ranks, to be head of the largest department in the resort.  The Housekeeping Department has just short of 200 employees, and covers not just the Housekeeping team, but includes the Laundry, Groundskeeping and Landscaping sections.

As Kuredu’s Executive Housekeeper, Abjee and his team have a critical role in helping to ensure that all of our guests have a comfortable stay on Kuredu.  The Housekeeping Team includes all of our Room Attendants who are an integral part of every guests’ visit.  There are currently 60 Room Attendants servicing the villas and bungalows twice a day, including the evening turn down.

Kuredu is kept immaculately clean thanks to Abjee’s ‘Red Team’ who are regularly commented on as being some of the friendliest team members on the island by our guests.  Responsible for the cleanliness of the island, the 34 ‘sweeper ladies’ are all from the local islands of Hinnavaru and Naifaru, checking in for work each morning when the first boats arrive.

The Laundry Section doesn’t just deal with the obvious needs of our guests and their linen, but also ensures that all of Kuredu’s team members look smart and respectable each day with cleanly pressed uniforms.  Not an easy task when you consider there are over 760 employees at Kuredu!  Even more amazing is that the uniforms are made in-house through the tailors that are resident at the Resort.

Abjee joined Kuredu in 1992 as a ‘Pantry Boy’, spending his days washing glasses.  As testament to his hard work and attitude, he has made his way through a number of roles and responsibilities before being promoted to his current position of Executive Housekeeper in 2010.
