A Culinary Chance of a Lifetime

At the Annual Culinary Competition in Male’, Kuredu’s Head Baker Palitha Pushpakumara won the top distinction award for his fantastic bread creations. In addition to the trophy, Pushpakumara was also offered to attend a training at the bakery and pastry company “Schapfenmühle” in Ulm, Germany. Pushpakumara, together with the Resort’s Pastry Chef Ushan Menaka Pati Arambag, set off to Germany at the beginning of April – and had an experience of a lifetime!

The training broadened Pushpakumara and Ushan’s skills, as well as their knowledge about the various kinds of grains, flour, and quality control. The visit was also beneficial as it allowed for an exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge among the participants.

We are certain that the training and of course the cultural immersion will positively affect Pushpakumara and Ushan’s creations and we will soon get to see and taste more of their bread and pastry creations at Kuredu’s dining venues.
