Now, let’s be honest: on a Sunday night, after another hectic week of juggling jobs, driving kids to after-school activities, running errands, household chores and other commitments, you’ve said to yourself many times ‘I’d rather be in the Maldives tomorrow’! You could frolic on the beach with your kids, go and search for the real Nemo and Dory, even have a couples’ spa treatment or a dive with your spouse… wouldn’t that be nice? Luckily for you, Kuredu understands that a family holiday should be packed with new experiences for children and offer relaxation for parents, which is why the resort has always been popular with families.

Ensuring the little ones enjoy their playtime while allowing parents to have some downtime is Sony, Kids’ Club Supervisor and this month’s Kuredu Celebrity.

Sunita Nandwani, known among friends and guests as Sony, first joined Kuredu in February 2015, when she was warmly greeting and ensuring diners’ comfort in the resort’s a la carte restaurants as a hostess; seizing the opportunity for career growth later led her to Hurawalhi where she was in charge of special events, and she returned ‘back home’ to Kuredu as the kids’ club opened in October last year.

‘I’m a die-hard romantic who believes in fairy tales AND a child at heart!’ This, combined with the fact she’s caring, attentive and responsible, makes Sony a star in the eyes of colleagues, resort’s youngest guests and their parents.

Sony, originally from the Philippines, loves her job and is grateful to the management for the ongoing support and opportunities to learn and grow as a person and hospitality professional: ‘It’s really rewarding to see how much fun the resort’s VVIP guests have at the kids’ club and what a lasting impression we make. All those warm hugs, letters and drawings, the slices of pizza they bring me, even those leaving-the-playground tantrums… It’s nice to help create beautiful memories.’

When Sony’s not playing Uno, colouring and reading afternoon nap stories, you might find her enjoying Kuredu Life: snorkelling, having her favourite prawn and calamari spaghetti at Franco’s or sipping on coffee in Sai Kotari at sunset. Be sure to say hello to Miss March the text time you see her!
