Covid-19 Vaccination Maldives

What a difference a year makes!

6th March 2021 was a great day at Kuredu Resort Maldives, it was the day we began vaccinating our team against Covid-19. 36 vaccinations were given on this day, mainly to members of the front-of-house team, with more being given in the following days.

The date was particularly poignant, the same date in 2020 saw the confirmation of the first Covid-19 case confirmed at our resort and the subsequent closure of Kuredu to guests and the majority of our staff family. The Maldives’ government and resorts were very quick to put in place stringent procedures to allow safe travel to and from the resort islands and Kuredu reopenend on 1st November 2020. The unique ‘one island, one resort’ set-up creates natural bubbles and we have safely welcomed many happy holidaymakers since reopening.

The pandemic has created turmoil across the world, but the scientific advances against Covid-19 have brought hope with vaccination programs being rolled out as fast as supplies allow and Kuredu is proud to be involved in strengthening the safety of our team and guests.
