Department of the Month – Gift Shop
If it were to be clinically tested, the ‘Kuredu Therapy’ would surely be the next big thing in the beauty/well-being/healthcare world. This month, we’re narrowing the concept down to ‘Kuredu Retail Therapy’ and putting the Gift Shop Department in the limelight.
Allow us to introduce you to the team who are on a mission to stock Kuredu’s 4 gift shops with your holiday essentials and a variety of souvenirs to keep your memories alive. Tried and tested: one look at a Kuredu keepsake a day keeps the doctor away!
The Gift Shop Department in fact consists of a total of 6 gift shops:
– 4 shops at Kuredu – Akiri Shop (Souvenirs and sundries), Nika Shop (clothing and accessories), and Sangu and O Shop (all items);
– 1 shop at Kuredu’s sister resort Komandoo;
– 1 shop (in the making) at the neighbouring Hurawalhi.
All in all, the department is run by 20 team members, of which Kuredu alone has 12 shop assistants. The management team who are working behind the scenes include Carly Davis from England (Area Retail Manager), Mihusan Mahmoodh from Hinnavaru, Maldives (Assistant Retail Manager), Prisma Limbu from Nepal (Visual Merchandising and Training Manager) and Ali Badhran also from the nearby Hinnavaru (Shop Supervisor).
Our gift shops sell Maldivian handicrafts, resort logo branded clothing and souvenirs, beachwear, jewellery, sundries and toiletries; the department also takes care of showcasing local talents at the resort with various events, such as the weekly visit by a Male’-based painter, and Guest Bazaar.
