Sunny greetings from the Maldives! June has seen both World Environment Day and World Oceans Day celebrated, and they are both causes close to the heart of Kuredu. Even before you arrive, the beauty of nature unfolds below during your seaplane flight, and you can’t help but realise how fragile our surroundings are – tiny islands lapped by clear blue water that depends on humanity’s care and action to preserve them for future generations. Once here, you only need to don a mask and peek at the shallow reefs to get a glimpse of the abundance of life in our oceans, and I’ve yet to meet someone who hasn’t been thrilled by the sight of the sea turtles grazing on the sea grass meadows!

At Kuredu, the focus on the health of the environment is matched by our focus on our guests’ wellness. It’s hard to beat our resort for opportunities to take care of your physical and mental health; something as simple as a barefoot stroll around the island’s perimeter and a few cooling dips in the ocean does wonders for the soul – my advice is to schedule in regular time to do both of these during your stay with us!

Apart from the usual sun, sea and sand, there’s plenty to look forward to if you’re due to arrive at Kuredu in the coming weeks. Sports enthusiasts will be able to watch footage of Wimbledon and Tour de France and Wimbledon in either the Akiri Bar or the Golf Bar. Foodies have World Chocolate Day and our Grand Chocolate Buffet to indulge in on the 7th of July, and, on the 14th of July, Bastille Day celebrations with delicious French food, including a tempting selection of French cheese in the buffet restaurants. Later in the month, there is the Kuredu Bazaar, where discounts from our different departments can be found and, to round the month off in style, we have the popular Kuredu Street Food Festival – we hope to see you there.
