Kuredu Celebrates International Women’s Day

08 Mar 2023

All around the world, International Women’s Day represents an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women while calling for greater equality.

Each year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March and it was first held in 1911. Thousands of events occur around the world to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women with organisations, governments, charities, educational institutions, women’s groups, corporations, and the media celebrating the day.

There are 95 women from 18 different countries working in various departments at Kuredu Resort Maldives, and although we appreciate them every day, we went to special lengths to show our appreciation on International Women’s Day. Each female employee was visited during their working day and handed a chocolate and note of thanks, a few of these ladies were asked to speak at our evening event in the Team Village to tell others about their career at the resort. As part of our Thank You Campaign, we invited a few male employees to create a short video in which they say a few words about a woman who influenced their career. A beautiful sunset cruise was enjoyed by the women of Kuredu and afterwards we all enjoyed fun games and a delicious dinner.

The women guests were not forgotten, they were treated to a complimentary sound and mindfulness meditation session to start their day and were invited to take a Happy Stone by Duniye Spa. Special spa treatments were available to book for all those who wanted to indulge in some ‘me time’.

A very big thank you to all the amazing women in the world, especially those on Kuredu – team and guests, past and present! May there be many more celebrations of International Women’s Day over the years at our resort!
