Kuredu Celebrities: Candice Lumayno

Kuredu Resort Maldives only works because of the fantastic team. The Kuredu Celebrities series allows us to pay homage to some of those who we feel really make a difference during your stay.
This month we would like to introduce the girl who is always smiling, and continuously works hard to make sure your dream moments come off without a hitch – please meet Candice Lumayno, Kuredu’s Special Events Coordinator.
Candice first joined us in 2011, when she left her job in television in her native Philippines to become part of the Kuredu family. Initially working in the reservations department, she has since moved through the island host team and now works with the Food and Beverage team delivering those magical moments. Her hard work cannot just be recognised with her various promotions, but also through her awards, having received both Employee of the Month and Supervisor of the Month titles in the past.
In her free time Candice will often be seen out on the water, where she loves to practice her freediving, goes diving, or smoothly moves between yoga poses as the sun rises or sets on the horizon. In the evenings she will often be found helping out with team and guest events. Candice participated in events such as Kuredu Idol, cultural shows, and was also on the women’s football team Pink Panthers.
When asked what she would do as a guest if she only had 24 hours on the island she replied:
Most of her time Candice works hard putting together candlelight dinners or other special events for guests.
Her favourite special event are wedding ceremonies, ‘…these are magical occasions where two people come together to show how much they love each other.’ One time she even had a reggae musician perform a song, composed specially for the occasion, for his new spouse in front of all of their friends and family.
Candice is planning to continue to work on Kuredu for the foreseeable future, so make sure you say hello to her during your holiday at the resort.
Already have a special occasion you’d like to celebrate in mind?
