Kuredu Cup 2016

Kuredu is more than just a home away from home to you and the world’s best office to us who are working here – it’s also a resort that is known across the Maldives for its community building endeavours; and if there is an activity that crosses the islands’ and the atolls’ boundaries, fosters teamwork, releases endorphins and teaches people about hard work, dedication and relying on others, it has got to be football!
This year’s Kuredu Cup saw a series of fantastic matches in which a total of 44 goals were scored at a ratio of 4.8 per match. Allow us to thank again everyone who contributed their part to making this important event happen and especially to the players of FC Kuredu who showcased their amazing talent.
The final match took place between teams of Maldives National Defense Force and Palm Beach; MNDF, performing in the Cup final for the first time, beat 2012 cup winners 3-2.
Kuredu is proud that the country’s first full-size football ground (with a FIFA-approved artificial turf) is put to good use and that it pitches in with making our team members happy.
A special mention goes to the following Kuredu Cup 2016 players:
Best Defender: Amdhah Ali, Irufushi
