Kuredu Welcomes Laurie & Terri for their 50th Visit

29 Nov 2022

28th November 2022 was a very special day for Kuredu Resort & Spa Maldives, it was the day we welcomed a very special couple back to their home away from home for the 50th time – a golden holiday anniversary! Laurie and Terri Miller have been coming to Kuredu for over 30 years, usually visiting us twice a year. This is testament to the service and provided team here at the resort, who Laurie and Terri refer to as their ‘Kuredu Family’.

Arrival day saw many of Kuredu’s team members congregate on the jetty to greet Laurie and Terri, the Samaasa Group performed a traditional Maldivian Bodu Beru show before our special repeaters took a ride in the VIP limousine to Reception. As a token of our appreciation of the couple’s loyalty to Kuredu, we presented them with some 50th visit gifts: t-shirts adorned with the number ’50’, along with vouchers for special events and dinner. After many happy greetings, they headed to their usual Premium Beach Villa to find beautiful bed decorations and extra room amenities.

Laurie and Terri will be staying with us for 6 weeks until 12th January, as they have done on many of their recent trips – this means they can celebrate Laurie’s birthday in early December, and Terri’s birthday in early January as well as enjoy all the festivities of Christmas and New Year in between. You might be wondering how they fill their days when they stay so long and so often…

Laurie is a very keen diver and knows all the dive sites in the atoll very well indeed. He’s been diving with Prodivers Kuredu since before their computerised records began so the number of dives he has completed here exceeds the 1847 the dive team have on record, the total in his log book is an incredible 1901! These include almost a 100 on Caves where the Maldives’ largest community of green sea turtles reside, 50+ on Fushivaru Thila – his favourite site and our famous manta cleaning station dive, and just under 200 dives on Kuredu Express, famed for strong currents, sharks and adrenalin rushes! Laurie is waved off by Terri at the jetty every morning as his dive boat departs, Terri then retires to the veranda, reads a book and watches the boats come and go. You’ll find them both enjoying iced coffee in Akiri Bar, having a few beers from their specially engraved mugs in Babuna Bar, eating in Koamas Restaurant and occasionally at Franco’s or the Far East, and of course sipping cocktails at the Repeaters’ Cocktail Parties.

The entire team at Kuredu are immensely happy that Laurie and Terri choose Kuredu time and time again for their holidays, and wish them a wonderful 50th stay!
