Enjoy High Season in the Maldives at Kuredu

Kuredu Resort Maldives is a year-round tropical destination, it won’t matter when you visit – we believe you’ll have an incredible time in any season. However we are often asked when the best time to visit is, and whilst we know everyone has their own preference, for many of our guests, the best time to visit the Maldives is the months of February through to April – the Maldives’ traditional high season. Here are 3 reasons why this time of year is so popular, and why so many of our repeaters like to come back and see us then.
The Weather: Being close to the equator we enjoy year-round temperatures of 28-30 degrees and plenty of sun. But the months of February-April offer the best chances of enjoying those calm clear days, where there is not a cloud in the sky and the sea is as flat as glass – picture perfect and stunning. The tropics will have rain all through the year though – it’s what keeps our island so beautiful and green but don’t worry, the rain never stays for long and there is plenty to do to wile away the time. Our personal favourite rainy activities are spa treatments and scuba diving – below the water it never rains!
Marine Life: The calm conditions above the surface almost guarantee great visibility below. Crystal clear waters allow divers and snorkellers to see more of the reef and have a better chance of spotting those shy creatures that may not like to come too close. Visibility of 20-30m is common and diving on the out reefs is simply breath-taking at this time of year. Take the underwater scooters for a spin and discover the amazing topography of the channel edges where the sharks like to hang out, or engage your core strength and take advantage go the calm water on a paddle board to explore the lagoon – you may even be joined by a dolphin or turtle!
Winter Sun: Often these conditions are savoured even more because for many of our guests this time of year is cold, wet and grey at home. There is nothing quite like two weeks on Kuredu to lift the winter blues and bring a little warmth into an otherwise cold time of year.
