Chef Marek Koucky joins Kuredu’s Culinary Team

At Kuredu Resort Maldives we pride ourselves on the exceptional quality and variety of culinary fare on offer. Whether it’s the theme nights in our buffet restaurants with live cooking and tables laden with freshly prepared food, a night out at Franco’s for Mediterranean cuisine (rumour has it that the pizzas served there are possibly the best in the Maldives!), an evening at the Beach Shack for seafood or vegetarian delights, a show-stopping Teppanyaki at the Far East or a special treat at one of our unmissable dining experiences, mealtimes are very much occasions to be savoured. At the helm of Kuredu’s culinary team is Executive Chef Paul King, who has been delighting guests since 2015 and he was joined in October 2019 by Executive Sous Chef, Marek Koucky and together they make the culinary dream team.
Originally from Czech Republic, Marek assists Paul in overseeing the culinary department, ensuring our guests have the very best dining experiences. Prior to this, Marek held the position of an Outlet Chef at Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort after roles in London’s luxury 5-star hotels such as Intercontinental London Park Lane, The Mayfair Hotel, Marriott Hotel and One Aldwych where he cooked for celebrities 50 Cent, Paris Hilton, Melanie B and Diego Maradona. Marek’s cooking style is modern, using the best possible ingredients, influenced by travelling and his training at Dulce Partia in Mexico City, which was included in ‘Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants’ at the time.
Always looking at ways to improve even further the dining experience for guests at Kuredu, Paul and Marek have recently added daily fresh pasta and gnocchi dishes and mouth-watering breakfasts at Franco’s.
