In photos – Kuredu’s incredible house reef

With an incredible variety of fish, turtles and other marine life on display, it’s easy to see why many of you kick-start your snorkelling or diving adventure on Kuredu’s house reef. Located just a short swim from the jetty, it is the perfect place for beginners and those of you with more experience to explore the Maldives’ underwater world.
Kuredu’s house reef offers you the chance the snorkel or dive at your favourite time of the day. All you need to do is gear up on the jetty and soon you’ll find yourself immersed in aquarium-like conditions: schools of snappers, fusiliers, puffer fish, parrot fish and other species you’ve seen in movies are residents here.
Following the coral reef, you’ll bump into Kuredu’s wreck that is shallow enough to be admired by snorkellers too. Swarming with lion fish, and a haven for schools of jacks and bat fish, the wreck also provides a sanctuary for Napoleons at night as they seek shelter inside the ship.
When you booked your holiday, the vivid coral reefs undoubtedly crossed your mind and with the incredible reef on your doorstep, it would be a pity not to give snorkelling or diving a try. Prodivers‘ avid snorkel and dive guides know the house reef like the back of their hands. If you tag along on their snorkelling tours or discover scuba diving sessions, you might even be in great luck and spot some rare sighting!
