Happy Cucumber Days at the Rebuilt Greenhouse
Few foods are as cool as a cucumber. These low-calorie veggies contain many nutrients, and Kuredu’s organic, homegrown cucumbers are a welcome fresh produce in dishes made to get us through the island’s scorching heat.
Executive Chef Paul is confident that Kuredu’s greenhouse probably grows the Maldives’ crunchiest cucumbers and that in a few month’s time, the greenhouse will likely be considered the best in the country.
‘Last month, our first plantation was ready; besides beautiful, juicy green cucumbers, we are now starting growing Bok Choy, Red, Green, Yellow Bell Peppers, Lettuces, Mint… With the hydroponic system now being installed, good times are ahead also for Rocket Lettuces, and in the modified glasshouse we can now grow even more herbs.’
