The reef on your doorstep
The Kuredu house reef has a huge range of fish on display, and is also home to a shipwreck. Swarming with lion fish, and a haven for schools of jacks and bat fish, the wreck also provides a sanctuary for Napoleons at night as they seek shelter inside the ship. The reef itself is home to scorpion fish, turtles and puffers as well as the rare leaf fish.
The house reef offers you the chance to simply come and dive whenever you and your buddy want to. You will find out everything you need to know about the house reef during your mandatory orientation session.
Orientation
Orientation sessions allows us to show you around the dive centre, explain in more detail what we have on offer and show you where to sign up for different diving activities, along with other practicalities that may come in handy during your stay with us. The orientation includes a guided dive on our house reef which allows you to get used to diving in the Maldivian waters with the the gear you’ll be using and sort out your weights. Our instructors will familiarise those who wish to dive on the house reef by themselves with entry/exit points and other safety related matters, and give those who prefer boat dives the necessary advice before kick starting the real thing.
Pre-Dive Checklist
Remember your card
At the check-in, you are required to show us a diving certification card, issued by an internationally recognised institution.
Get a medical check-up if needed
At the check-in, you are required to fill out the liability release and the medical questionnaire. A signed statement from a doctor stating that you are fit to dive is required where medical conditions contrary to scuba diving exist.
Equipment
Scuba gear is available for rent at the dive centre. Should you have any specific requirements (e.g. prescription mask), we suggest you bring your own gear to make sure it fits perfectly.

Incredible Night Dives
If you have never done a night dive before, feel free to join one of our instructors for a guided house reef night dive, or go for a dive before dinner with your buddy if you have experience in night diving.
Get to see first hand the changes which take place underwater once the sun goes down: observe the turtles as they sleep the night away, moray eels looking for prey, and jack fish hunting with bullet speeds. We also run boat night dives to one of the spectacular reefs around Kuredu for those of you who have already done a night dive before.
So you want to dive and snorkel on Kuredu’s house reef…
For starters, visit the friendly Prodivers team at the resort’s dive and snorkel centre. They will explain the ins and outs of the house reef – to make sure you are safe and you know where to find the best the reef has on offer. For divers and snorkelers alike, the Prodivers team organize guided tours of the house reef, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on the reef’s highlights and you can be at ease that someone’s keeping an eye on you while in the water.
