Responsible Diving and Snorkelling at Kuredu, Maldives

They’re the lungs of our planet, providing most of the oxygen we breathe. They’re a major source of food and medicine and a critical part of the biosphere. They sustain entire economies (hello, Maldives!) and affect people’s well-being no matter how distant from it they live. They’re our oceans. We celebrate World Oceans Day on 8th June every year, however at a location with such a profound connection to the ocean as the Maldives, we at Kuredu celebrate the event pretty much every day and invite you to do the same.
The resort’s dive center, Prodivers Maldives (voted the country’s best dive center in the 2018 Tauchen awards, and also one of the Maldives’ largest) plays an integral part in sharing its passion for the ocean and the life beneath it with you. The more time you spend snorkelling and diving with the team, the more you’ll experience and therefore appreciate the importance of being a responsible tourist.
From sharing the fascination over manta rays’ feeding techniques, intrigue over turtles’ nesting habits to the clever preying skills of frogfish, our diving instructors and snorkel guides alongside the resident marine biologist know the ocean around Kuredu like the back of their hand.
Sure, the resort ticks all the ‘relaxation par excellence’ boxes but it has never been more an important time to understand the fragility of our environment and learn how you can be responsible tourist and consumer yourself and how you can share the knowledge gained at Kuredu with your friends and family, especially the younger generations.
Come visit Kuredu to be experience sustainable diving and snorkelling first hand!
We celebrated 30 years of taking good care of the ocean surrounding Kuredu in December 2018:
