Congratulations on your retirement!
A few weeks ago, we bid farewell to two of our long-service team members, Ibrahim Ali (Bodubae) & Samad Ali (Samadhubae). Though retirement is a bittersweet end of a person’s working life, the whole Kuredu Resort & Spa team did their best to make sure their lengthy time at the resort finished on the best possible note.
Ibrahim Ali, aged 73, started his work on the island 24 year ago as a crew member of the Abaarana dhoni, and later became a dedicated and hardworking helper in the resort’s gardening department. Samad Ali, aged 70, was with us for 23 years. Similarly, he started as a crew member of the Fathima dhoni, and was then transferred to the gardeners’ team.
During their long years on Kuredu, Bodubae and Samadhubae saw the resort go through many changes and saw many colleagues come and go. We are happy that they were with us all this time, and at the same time sad to see such ubiquitous faces leave for good.
Many of the co-workers, friends and the management team came to their retirement party, where we bid a lovely farewell and wished Bodubae and Samadhubae a healthy retirement and quality time with their families.
We promised them to keep a close watch on the new gardeners to make sure that Kuredu’s greenery stays impeccable, and hope our new gardening helpers will be as dedicated and greet us with the same friendly ‘hello’, just like Bodubae and Samadhubae for the last two dozen years.
