Message from the Resort Manager – July 2022

Dear Guests,
Greetings from sunny Kuredu! It’s been truly wonderful to see more and more of you heading back to our resort for your long-awaited holidays – for some, it’s been the first big holiday since the pandemic and, from the smiles I’ve seen around the resort, it was worth the wait.
Here on the island, July has seen many of our team, some of our guests, and, of course, our local community recently celebrate Eid ul-Adha, one of the holiest holidays of the Islamic calendar. Eid Mubarak to all our friends and family across the world who celebrated this holy festival. Towards the end of this month, the Maldives will celebrate 57 years of independence from Britain on the 26th of July, and looking further ahead, we will be celebrating with many of our guests over the Christmas and New Year period. Exciting festive plans are in progress – we look forward to giving you a preview of what we have in store very soon – please keep an eye on our blog for the latest information.
Manta season in Lhaviyani Atoll is due to begin in just a couple of months, and if swimming with these magnificent creatures is on your bucket list, book your trip and join us for snorkelling and scuba diving. Even without the mantas, the reefs near Kuredu are bustling with life and with the largest community of green sea turtles literally on our doorstep, you will have a chance to see these very special reef residents whenever you venture out armed with a snorkel, mask, and fins. Wildlife is plentiful here at Kuredu, and turtles and mantas are not the only sightings to tick off your bucket lists – sharks are also in plentiful supply, and even those of you who prefer to stay firmly on dry land will be able to spot juveniles practising their hunting skills while chasing small fish in the lagoon – just walk around the island and see how many you can spot. If you want to find out more about marine life here, drop in on Emily, our Marine Biologist, at the Marine Center and check out the bookable activities on our App where you can book to join her in the water.
If you are considering a visit to Kuredu, whether this summer, the upcoming winter season or even next year, check out our special offers as there are some incredible savings to take advantage of, but don’t leave it too late! I very much look forward to welcoming you to Kuredu for your holiday – whenever that may be!
With very best wishes,
Pascal
