Socially Distanced Holiday Activities

If you’re looking for somewhere to go on holiday where you can escape the crowds and feel secure in the knowledge that Covid-19 is being taken seriously, but still want to enjoy all that the destination has to offer, Kuredu Resort Maldives ticks the boxes. The uncrowded beaches, invididual villas and range of ‘things to do’ mean that even at full capacity the island will feel spacious and social distancing will be effortless.
Our recommendations for socially distanced activities:
Golf – not an activity usually associated with the Maldives but nestled on the eastern portion of the island, surrounded by palm trees and the noise of the ocean, is Kuredu Golf Club and playing golf could not be any more peaceful than it is here. Perfect your short game or just have a go at hitting a few balls, facilities include a full size driving range, a large putting green and a 6-hole Par 3 course.
Stand-Up Paddleboarding – serenely explore the crystal clear lagoons that surround Kuredu and get a full core workout at the same time. Most can master the technique very quickly and then it’s just you and the ocean, the only noise being that of your paddle beaking the surface of the water, or a pod of dolphins coming up to breathe!
Snorkelling – to visit the Maldives and not snorkel would be a mistake, to visit Kuredu and not snorkel would be opportunities of a lifetime missed. A beautiful housereef with its very own shipwreck and an abundance of fish, lagoons and seagrass meadows where turtles graze and the famous Kuredu Caves where the country’s lagest population of green sea turtles reside are just some of the wonders awaiting snorkellers.
Padel Tennis – Padel tennis is a fun, racquet sport, played on a semi-enclosed court, where players can hit the ball off the walls, similar to squash.
The small size of the court and the basic equipment make padel tennis a great sport for everyone; it allows you to practise your reflexes, it can help hone your tennis skills and, most importantly, it’s an activity and a workout the whole family can enjoy together.
Scuba Diving – just you, your buddy and the fish! Our experienced guides will show you ther sights on the incredible reefs in the Lhaviyani Atoll but please be aware that the marine creatures are not well-trained in the etiquette of social distancing so expect some close encounters! Manta season is about to start and with turtles and sharks around all year, it’s always a good time to dive.
