Try Scuba Diving at Kuredu – No Experience Required!

15 Apr 2021

If you’ll be spending your holiday at Kuredu Resort Maldives, don’t miss out on the opportunity to see what lies below the surface of the ocean – an incredible underwater wonderland awaits, including the Maldives’ largest population of green sea turtles. The Maldives is one of the world’s most renowned diving hotspots and there’s good news for anyone who wants to give scuba diving a try – there’s no prior experience or study required!

With all the activities available at Kuredu, it’s understandable that not everyone wants to commit to a full PADI Open Water Diver Course and if you simply want to experience the thrill of breathing underwater and get a glimpse of the marine life that lies beneath the surface around the resort, the best option is the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program (DSD). The DSD program is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world and the team at Prodivers on Kuredu will help you every step of the way.

Your instructor will explain the basics of scuba equipment, you will learn the key skills to make you feel comfortable and safe and, most importantly, have loads of fun. The first dive takes place in the very shallow water of the lagoon so that you can get used to the gear and the amazing sensation of being almost weightless. The reef awaits for your second dive, you will see corals, an abundance of fish life, and if you’re lucky, turtles, moray eels and maybe even rays! With so many beautiful dive sites accessible by boat, most DSD participants decide to do a third dive as well. Some of our guests get totally hooked on diving and use the Discover Scuba Diving program as credit towards the full Open Water or PADI Scuba Diver certification.

If you’ll be visiting us soon and are interested in trying scuba diving, you can pre-book your first dive (plus many more exciting activities!) using the Kuredu App. It’s also perfectly okay to simply pop into the dive center once you arrive.
